Years ago while Josh was working with the Team CSC at the Dauphine Libere, he noticed one of their mechanics using the most amazing little chuck to manage the disc wheel inflation. Unlike anything he had seen before, it was all metal and used a 'lollipop' lever on the side to lock onto the valve stems in disc wheels. The mechanic explained that these were made in Japan and were coveted by all the Euro-Pro mechanics due to their scarcity. So Josh set out to improve the design and make it available to cyclists everywhere.

Positive engagement and straightforward inflation. If you don’t have one get one
Nice finish. Good weight. Aolod mounting to Presta fitting. I’d buy again for sure.
This Hiro chuck is as good as they say – it can be operated one-handed, is stable and doesn't pop off, and doesn't snap open and smack your knuckle, leaving you cursing. If you pump up a Presta valve at least once per week, this is money very well spent and will turn the chore of pumping up tires into a fun ritual. If you're retrofitting an old pump, you need to get the "THREAD-ON SCHRADER CHUCK" to insert into your current hose.
A great Black Friday deal on this chuck made me pull the trigger to make this purchase. I wound up ordering the presta/schrader adapter separately; don't miss that piece if you're modifying an older pump with the original brass press-on chuck. The locking chuck now allows me to lock in on proper pressure, and to access valves that don't have enough room to access with the press-on style chuck. And with the schrader adapter, I can also use the Silca pump with the odd tire with schrader valves.
